Rabbi Avraham Hillel (1920–1824) was born in Baghdad.
From his childhood, he has been studying the Torah in the Beit Zalka family, and is seen in all the Torah, in his special talents and in his high dimensions, and was appointed by Dr. Abdullah as the head of a meeting which operated under the house of the Midrash.
He was one of the ten heads of the “keepers of Mitzvah”, founded in Baghdad in the year of the “settlement” and worked in favor of the community’s welfare in education, charity, and the preservation of religion, as well as among the representatives of the Sages of the “Committee of the physical”. In the year of the ‘TR’, he became a Dane in Baghdad and in the ‘Tramd’ was appointed for one year to be the “wise man” instead of Dr. Elisha Nassim Sasson Dangur (a “court of law”). In the year of the so-called “wise in Ashi” again, as Lew Elisha Nassim Shaun Dangur decided to retire from this position. He worked on the establishment of a school for religious studies, along with learning languages, Turkish, Arabic and Persian, and the purchase of certification for their livelihood as butchers, cantors, motiguing and baby-learning. In the ‘Tharmot served as a father of the law ‘ and after the burial of his teacher (Dr. Abdullah trusts) in the month of the ‘Tharmot’ was imprisoned for 40 days in al-Kala Prison, along with seven other rabbis following the recent informing of the local governor of Iraq that the Jews had rebelled in the army responsible for his village and buried him without his permission.
In the year of the “Thraya’a”, he was again appointed the “wise man” by the Ottoman government’s decision until the outbreak of World War I.
In the year of the “Tharad”, he joined the “General Rabbis Association” founded by Dr. Aaron Mendel the High Priest (Rabbi of the Ashkenazi community in Cairo) , who worked to establish the Great Court in Jerusalem.
In the year of the ‘EF’, he returned his soul to its maker.
